A series of training sessions to Health Service Providers (HSPs) on Adolescents Sexual & Reproductive Health was successfully delivered in district Hunza, Ghizer and Skardu in the 2 nd week of September 2013 in GB. The event was organized by Aga Khan Rural Support Program (AKRSP) as an important activity of the ongoing project Adolescents/ Early Youth Development (A/EYDP) in GB which is also known as Reproductive Health Initiative with Adolescents (RHIA) in the project implemented areas of Sindh and Punjab by Plan Pakistan International (PPI) an INGO and project partner of AKRSP.

International Day of the Girl Child in GBC
International Day of the Girl Child was celebrated by the students of Adolescent Friendly Centers (AFCs) in the mountain region of Gilgit Baltistan and Chitral (GBC) north of Pakistan on October 11, 2013 as an activity of the ongoing project Adolescents Early Youth Development Project (A/EYDP) implemented by Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (AKRSP) and funded by Plan International Pakistan (PIP). Around seven thousand male and female registered adolescents ranging from age group 9-19 of AFCs participated in this event. Political leaders, civil society members, representatives of women and youth organizations, academicians, High School and College going female students, journalists, religious leaders and parents also attended this historically important social occasion. The event was organized by the collaboration of Local Support Organizations (LSOs) and the project staff in GBC.

Sessions with Shah Karim Hostel Gilgit and AKHSS Students
In the month of February, advocacy and awareness sessions on Adolescence and Early Youth Development issues, including Reproductive Health issues have been conducted in Shah Karim Hostel Gilgit Konadass. Approximately 150 students attended and participated in the interactive sessions over Reproductive issues of Adolescence and Early Youth Development. Presentations on Reproductive Health issues have been delivered to Aga Khan Higher Secondary Students and more than 100 Second Year Students attended the awareness and advocacy sessions at AKHSS Gilgit Konadass. The content of presentations was full of information regarding Physical, Cognitive and Social Development process of Adolescents.
Training of Health Service Providers on ASRHR
In the month of January, around 40 Health Service Providers (HSPs) including Doctors, Nurses, Dispensers, Lady Health Workers (LHWs), Lady Health Visitors (LHVs) have been trained regarding Reproductive Health Issues of Adolescents and services in District Hunza and Ghizer. Previously, 20 HSPs have been trained in Chitral in the same area of medical inquiry. The training sessions were full of material regarding HIV-AIDS, Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs), Syndrome Management, Diagnosis, Treatment, and Communication Skills.
